Why custom cards beat a generic printout

A pack of ABC flash cards is handy until your child asks about a letter the pack leaves out, or your teacher uses a different picture word for the same sound. Making your own set from the material already in use keeps the picture words, fonts and order consistent with what the child sees at school.

  • Use the same picture words and fonts as your classroom sheets.
  • Start with three to five new letters and review the earlier ones first.
  • Check each card before studying so wrong sounds do not stick.
  • Print a set only with a paid plan that includes PDF export.

Built from your material

Upload a PDF, slide deck, text notes or a photo of an alphabet chart. Text recognition reads the page and turns each letter into a card.

Spaced repetition

Cards you miss come back sooner and cards you know fade into longer gaps, so letters stick without daily drilling from the same sheet.

Quizzes and mind maps too

Once the letters are learned, switch to multiple choice or true/false quizzes with explanations, or map letter sounds and picture words into a mind map.

How it works

Upload your alphabet material

Add a PDF, a document, a slide deck or a clear photo of a letter sheet.

Review the generated cards

Check the letter, picture word and sound on each card and edit anything that does not match what you teach.

Practice a little every day

Study in the browser for short sessions and let spaced repetition bring back the letters that need more work.

Start with the letters your child is learning this week, then add the earlier ones as reviews. Pairing each capital and small letter with one familiar picture word, and saying the sound aloud, gives the card a memory hook that a bare letter does not.

Frequently asked questions

How many new letters should a child learn per flashcard session?

Most young learners do well with three to five new letters at a time, mixed with a few they already know. Keep sessions short and review the earlier letters first.

How do I teach letter sounds with flashcards?

Show the capital and small letter together with one picture word, then say the sound aloud. Move a letter to review only after the child names it without help.

Can I print these flashcards?

Printing needs an export, which is a paid feature. Plus includes PDF export at $39/year or $7.99/month, and the free plan lets you study in the browser.

Is there a free plan?

Yes. The free plan includes 3 generations per month and browser study, with no exports. No credit card is needed to start, and students get 40% off with a school email.
