Does DeckOwl let me change the fields or layout of an Anki note type?

No. DeckOwl creates the cards and can export them to Anki, but it does not edit Anki note types or card templates. Exporting to Anki is a Plus feature.

How many flashcards should I make for a biology unit?

Keep each card to one fact and cover every lecture objective at least once. Then add extra cards for anything you keep missing when you review.

How should I study flashcards with spaced repetition?

Try to recall the answer before you flip the card, then rate honestly how hard it was. Cards you miss come back sooner, and easy ones are spaced further apart.

Can I make flashcards from my own PDF or slides?
