How to practice Spanish numbers from 1 to 100

Counting from uno to cien is one of the first things most Spanish courses teach, and Spanish numbers 1 to 100 flashcards are a quick way to drill it in short sessions.

  • Numbers 1 to 15 have their own words, so memorize them first.
  • Numbers 16 to 29 follow a pattern: dieciséis, diecisiete, veintiuno.
  • From 31 to 99, tens and ones are joined with y, as in cincuenta y ocho.
  • 100 is cien, and ciento is used for 101 to 199.

Built from your material

Upload a PDF, slide deck, text notes or a photo of a vocabulary page, and the flashcards follow the numbers your class actually covers.

Spaced repetition

Cards you miss come back sooner, so the trickier teens and the 30s through 90s stick without re-reading the whole set.

Study in the browser

The free plan lets you study right away with no credit card, and Plus adds exports to PDF, DOCX, Anki and CSV.

How it works

Upload your source

Add a worksheet, textbook page, lecture slides or a photo of your notes. Text in images is read with text recognition.

Generate your flashcards

DeckOwl creates cards that pair each numeral with its Spanish word, such as 16 and dieciséis.

Review in short sets

Work through groups of ten, and let spaced repetition bring back the numbers you keep missing.

The hard part is not 1 to 10. The teens from dieciséis to diecinueve are single words, 21 to 29 are written as one word such as veintitrés, and from 31 onward you write treinta y uno with a separate y. Cards that show the written form next to the numeral make these patterns easier to notice.

Start with the numbers your teacher assigned, upload that page, and review it in sets of ten. Once those feel automatic, move to the next range and let the older cards return on a schedule.

Frequently asked questions

How many Spanish number flashcards should I study per session?

Most learners do well with sets of about 10, such as 1 to 10 and then 11 to 20. Review the sets you miss more often before moving on to new ranges.

Why do 21 to 29 look different from 31 to 39 in Spanish?

Numbers 21 to 29 are usually written as one word, like veintitrés, while from 31 onward you write treinta y uno with a separate y. Flashcards that show the written form help you pick up this pattern.

Can I export my number flashcards?

Exports to PDF, DOCX, Anki and CSV are part of the Plus plan at $39 per year or $7.99 per month. The Free plan gives you 3 generations per month and lets you study in the browser.

Do I need a credit card to start?

No. You can start on the free plan without a credit card, and students get 40% off with a school email.
