How many German flashcards should I make for a unit?

Most units work well with 20 to 40 cards, enough to cover the key vocabulary and one or two grammar patterns without becoming hard to review. Split longer chapters into several sets so you can study a few cards at a time.

What should a German flashcard include on the back?

Give the English meaning, the article or gender for nouns, and the plural if it is irregular. For verbs, add the past participle or the case a preposition takes, so the card tests the full pattern rather than a single word.

Can I export my flashcards as a printable PDF for free?
