Why hard multiplication facts need custom cards

Most printable sheets list every fact from 1 to 12 in order, so you spend time on the 2s and 5s you already know. Hard multiplication flashcards work better when they start from the facts your class or textbook actually asks for, like 7 × 8, 6 × 7 and 12 × 11.

  • Works from a photo of a worksheet or textbook page
  • Cards focus on the facts in your own material
  • Spaced repetition brings missed cards back sooner
  • Quizzes with explanations give you a second check
Example hard multiplication flashcards
What is 7 × 8?56. Split 8 into 4 + 4: 7 × 4 = 28, and 28 + 28 = 56.
What is 6 × 7?42. Start with 6 × 6 = 36, then add one more group of 6.
What is 9 × 7?63. Use 10 × 7 = 70, then subtract one group of 7.
What is 12 × 11?132. Multiply by 10 to get 120, then add one more 12.
What is 13 × 14?182. Split it as 13 × 10 + 13 × 4 = 130 + 52.

How it works

Upload a PDF, slide deck, notes file or a photo of a practice sheet.

Generate the cards

DeckOwl writes flashcards from the facts and problems in your material.

Study the hard ones

Study in your browser. Facts you miss return more often until they stick.

If you have a teacher's worksheet or a photo of one, upload it and DeckOwl creates cards from those problems. Spaced repetition then shows the cards you miss more often, so practice time goes where it counts.

Free accounts get 3 generations a month and study in the browser. Plus adds exports to PDF, DOCX, Anki and CSV, so you can print cards or move them into another app.
