Why build your own VCE physics flashcards

Ready-made VCE physics flashcards are easy to find, but they rarely match the way your teacher framed a topic or the exact content in your textbook. DeckOwl takes the material you already have, whether that is a PDF of class notes, a PPTX of lecture slides or photos of pages, and turns it into cards you can review with spaced repetition.

  • Cards built from your own VCE physics notes, slides and textbook PDFs
  • Equations with variable definitions and units on the back
  • Spaced repetition to bring back the cards you keep missing
  • Quizzes and mind maps if you want another way to check understanding
Example VCE physics flashcards on motion and forces
What is the difference between a scalar and a vector quantity?A scalar has magnitude only, such as speed or mass, while a vector has magnitude and direction, such as velocity or force. Direction changes how vectors must be added, so it cannot be ignored.
What does Newton's second law state? The net force on an object equals its mass multiplied by its acceleration, F = ma. It links the force acting on an object to how its velocity changes.
What is the equation for average speed?Average speed equals total distance divided by total time, v = d/t. It uses distance rather than displacement because speed ignores direction.
What is Ohm's law?Voltage equals current multiplied by resistance, V = IR, for an ohmic conductor at constant temperature. It lets you calculate any one of the three quantities when the other two are known.
What is the equation for kinetic energy?Kinetic energy equals one half of mass multiplied by speed squared, Ek = ½mv². Because speed is squared, doubling an object's speed quadruples its kinetic energy.

Built from your material

Upload PDFs, DOCX files, PPTX slides, plain notes or photos of pages, and get flashcards written from your own content.

Spaced repetition

Cards you find hard come back sooner, so your review time goes to the physics you are still missing.

Export when you need it

On Plus, send your cards to Anki, CSV, PDF or DOCX. The Free plan keeps studying in the browser.

How it works

Upload your notes

Add a PDF, DOCX, PPTX, text file or photo of a page from your VCE physics class.

Generate the cards

DeckOwl reads the text and writes flashcards with a question on the front and the answer on the back.

Review on a schedule

Study with spaced repetition so each card returns at the right time for you.

Physics cards work best when each one tests a single idea: a definition, a unit, an equation with its variables named, or a short explanation of why a result happens. Start with the topics your exam covers, then review a small set daily rather than cramming the night before.

Frequently asked questions

How many VCE physics flashcards should I make for one topic?

There is no fixed number, but aim for one idea per card so each can be answered in a few seconds. A single topic such as kinematics often needs a few dozen cards to cover its definitions, equations and worked-example steps.

Should I memorize physics formulas or understand them?

Understanding matters more: know what each variable means, which units it uses, and when the formula applies. Cards that ask you to explain why a result happens tend to be more useful in exams than cards that only ask you to recall a symbol.

Is DeckOwl free to use?

The Free plan includes 3 generations per month and studying in the browser, with no exports. Plus costs $39/year or $7.99/month and adds unlimited generations plus PDF, DOCX, Anki and CSV export.

Can I export my VCE physics flashcards to Anki?

Yes, but export to Anki is a paid feature on the Plus plan. Students get 40% off with a school email, and no credit card is needed to start.
