Skip the Quizlet copy-paste and make quiz questions from your notes
DeckOwl doesn't import Quizlet sets directly. Upload a PDF, slides, a DOCX or a photo of a page and get multiple-choice, true/false or short answer questions with explanations.
What to do when a Quizlet set won't move into Gimkit
Retyping a deck is the slow part of any Gimkit import from Quizlet, and DeckOwl can't pull a Quizlet set in directly. What it can do is turn the notes, slides or PDFs behind that set into fresh quiz questions with explanations, which is often faster than rebuilding term lists by hand.
- Copy terms into a plain text or CSV file with one pair per line
- Keep a header row so the term and definition columns stay clear
- Save the file as UTF-8 so accented letters and symbols survive
- Check that every row has both a term and a definition before you import

Frequently asked questions
What file format should I use to move a list of terms between study apps?
A CSV file or plain text file with one term and definition per row is the most widely readable choice. Use a comma or tab consistently between the two fields.
How do I keep accented letters and symbols intact when importing a term list?
Save the file with UTF-8 encoding so characters like é, ñ and ü are stored correctly. If they show up as strange symbols after import, re-save the file as UTF-8 and try again.
Can DeckOwl export quizzes straight into Gimkit?
DeckOwl does not list Gimkit as an export target. Paid plans export PDF, DOCX, Anki and CSV, and Pro also exports QTI 2.1 and Moodle XML.
Do I need a credit card to try DeckOwl?
No, you can start on the free plan without a credit card. The free plan includes 3 generations per month and studying in the browser, with no exports.
