How to make a quiz that fits your class

If you want to make Gimkit-style quizzes from lecture material, start with the file you already have. A quiz built from your own slides or notes tests the exact terms, examples and definitions your instructor used.

  • Upload PDFs, DOCX, PPTX, text or photos of pages
  • Generate multiple-choice, true/false and short-answer questions
  • Read a clear explanation for every answer
  • Export to PDF and DOCX on Plus, or to QTI 2.1 and Moodle XML on Pro
Example probability basics practice questions
A fair coin is flipped twice. What is the probability of getting two heads?1/4. Each flip has a 1/2 chance of heads, and independent flips multiply, so 1/2 × 1/2 = 1/4.
True or false: if events A and B are mutually exclusive, then P(A and B) = 0.True. Mutually exclusive events cannot occur together, so their intersection has probability zero.
A fair six-sided die is rolled once. What is the probability of rolling a number greater than 4?1/3. Only 5 and 6 qualify out of six equally likely outcomes, so 2/6 = 1/3.
What is the probability of getting at least one head in three fair coin flips?7/8. The complement, getting no heads, has probability 1/8, so 1 − 1/8 = 7/8.
Two cards are drawn without replacement from a 52-card deck. Are the two draws independent? No. The first draw changes the makeup of the deck, so the second probability depends on the first.

Multiple-choice, true/false and open questions

Choose the question type that fits your material, and every question comes with an explanation of the answer.

Built from your own material

Start from a PDF, DOCX, PPTX, plain text or a photo of a page, so the quiz matches what your class actually covered.

Study with spaced repetition

Review missed questions at the right intervals, so the topics you find hardest come back more often.

How it works

Upload your source

Add a PDF, slide deck, document, notes or a photo of a page. Text in images is read with text recognition.

Pick the question types

Choose multiple-choice, true/false or short-answer questions, then generate your quiz in one step.

Practice and review

Work through the quiz in your browser, read the explanations, and retry the questions you missed.

Each question includes an explanation, so the quiz teaches as well as tests. You can run it again later with spaced repetition, which helps the material stay in memory longer than a single cram session.

This is a study quiz for practice, not a live game show. Generate one for each unit so you can check your understanding before an exam.

Frequently asked questions

How many practice questions should I work through for probability basics?

Start with 10 to 15 questions covering counting, complementary events and independent events. Redo the ones you missed a day later to check whether the idea has stuck.

What is the difference between independent and mutually exclusive events?

Independent events do not change each other's probability, so P(A and B) equals P(A) times P(B). Mutually exclusive events cannot both happen in the same trial, so P(A and B) equals 0.

Can I export the quizzes I make?

PDF and DOCX export are part of the Plus plan at $39/year or $7.99/month. QTI 2.1 and Moodle XML export require the Pro plan at $14.99/month.

Do I need a credit card to try it?

No. The free plan gives you 3 generations per month with studying in the browser, and no credit card is needed to start. Students get 40% off with a school email.
