Turn your own study photos into Gimkit-style picture quizzes
DeckOwl does not include Gimkit skins or artwork. It reads your slides, notes and photos, then writes multiple-choice, true/false and short answer questions with explanations.
What these picture quizzes can and cannot do
Gimkit-style picture quizzes work best when the image is your own: a labeled diagram from class, a slide, or a photo of a textbook page. DeckOwl does not sell or provide Gimkit skins, avatars or game artwork, and it is not affiliated with Gimkit.
- Upload a labeled diagram and get a question for each labeled part.
- Pick true/false items for quick checks of terms and definitions.
- Use short answer prompts to test explanations, not only recognition.
- The free plan includes 3 generations per month and browser study; exports need Plus or Pro.
Reads images
Photos of pages and diagrams are read with text recognition, so labels and captions can become questions.
Three question types
Multiple choice, true/false and short answer questions, each with an explanation for the correct answer.
Exports when you need them
Export to PDF, DOCX, Anki or CSV on Plus, and QTI 2.1 or Moodle XML on Pro.
How it works
Upload your material
Add a PDF, DOCX, PPTX, text file or a photo of your diagram or board.
Choose question types
Pick multiple choice, true/false or short answer, or a mix of all three.
Study or export
Practice in the browser, or export the quiz if your plan includes it.
Once the image is uploaded, the text on it becomes the source for questions and answers. Check the output against your course material before a test, because text recognition can misread small labels.

Frequently asked questions
Does DeckOwl include Gimkit skins or pictures?
No. DeckOwl creates quiz questions from your own files and images, and it is not affiliated with Gimkit.
How many questions should I make from one diagram?
Start with five to ten questions covering the labeled parts, then add true/false items about how the parts relate. Smaller sets are easier to review before a quiz.
What is the best way to study a labeled diagram?
Cover the labels and name each part from memory, then check the answer and explain its function out loud. Repeat the parts you miss the next day.
Are exports included for free?
No. The free plan studies in the browser without exports; Plus adds PDF, DOCX, Anki and CSV export, and Pro adds QTI 2.1 and Moodle XML.
