Turn your notes into Gimkit-style rewards quizzes
DeckOwl writes multiple-choice, true/false and short answer questions from your PDFs, slides and notes, each with an explanation you can study or export.
How reward questions help students learn
A reward only works when the question behind it is worth getting right. DeckOwl does not host a live game or award points to players, but it writes the Gimkit-style rewards quizzes you would put in one, built from your own course material.
- Reward questions built from your own chapter or slides
- Explanations that teach the reason behind each correct answer
- Multiple choice, true/false and short answer formats
- Exports to PDF, DOCX, Anki, CSV, QTI 2.1 and Moodle XML on paid plans
Questions from your material
Upload PDFs, DOCX, PPTX, plain notes or photos of pages and get multiple-choice, true/false and short answer questions.
Explanations for every answer
Each question comes with an explanation, so a wrong answer becomes a lesson instead of just a miss.
Export on paid plans
Plus adds PDF, DOCX, Anki and CSV export. Pro adds QTI 2.1 and Moodle XML for school learning systems.
How it works
Upload your notes
Add a PDF, slides, a Word file or a photo of a page.
Choose a question type
Pick multiple choice, true/false or short answer for your set.
Study or export
Practice in the browser, or export the questions on Plus or Pro.
Rewards shape behavior through reinforcement, and the same idea shows up in studying. Questions about reinforcement, motivation and token systems test whether you can explain why a reward changes what people do, not just recall the term.
Upload the chapter or lecture slides you already have, and DeckOwl generates the questions with explanations. You can practice in the browser on the free plan, which includes 3 generations per month, or export your set on a paid plan.

Frequently asked questions
How do rewards change study motivation?
External rewards can raise effort on dull or repetitive tasks, but when a reward is given for something a person already enjoys, interest can drop once the reward stops. Pairing rewards with clear feedback tends to help more than rewards alone.
What is the difference between a reward and a reinforcer?
A reinforcer is defined by its effect: it makes the behavior before it more likely to happen again. A reward that does not change behavior does not count as a reinforcer, even if people like it.
Can DeckOwl run a reward game for my class?
No. DeckOwl creates quiz questions with explanations and does not host a live game or award points, so any game would need to run on a separate tool.
Which plans include exports?
The free plan has no exports and allows 3 generations per month. Plus ($39/year or $7.99/month) adds PDF, DOCX, Anki and CSV export, and Pro ($14.99/month) adds QTI 2.1 and Moodle XML.
