Percentage questions you can build from your own material

Teachers and students often need a Google Form quiz on percentages that matches the lesson they just taught. Instead of writing every item by hand, upload the worksheet or notes and generate questions that stay within that material.

  • Questions stay tied to the text you upload, so a quiz on your unit matches your unit.
  • Each answer includes a short explanation you can read aloud or keep as feedback.
  • Free plan: 3 generations per month, studied in the browser, no exports.
  • Paid plans remove the generation limit, and Plus and Pro add the export formats.
Example percentage questions for a quiz
What is 15% of 80?12. Multiply 80 by 0.15 to get 12.
A test has 40 points and you score 34. What percentage is that?85%. Divide 34 by 40 to get 0.85, then multiply by 100.
A price rises from $50 to $60. What is the percentage increase?20%. The increase is $10, and 10 ÷ 50 = 0.20.
True or false: 0.5 is equal to 50%.True. Moving the decimal point two places to the right converts a decimal to a percent.
A shirt costs $40 with 25% off. What is the sale price?$30. 25% of $40 is $10, and $40 − $10 = $30.

Three question types

Multiple choice, true/false and open questions, each with an explanation for the correct answer.

Built from your material

Upload PDFs, DOCX or PPTX files, plain-text notes, or photos of pages read with text recognition.

Export when you need it

Plus exports to PDF and DOCX. Pro adds QTI 2.1 and Moodle XML for learning management systems.

How it works

Upload your notes

Add a file, paste text, or photograph a page from your textbook or handout.

Pick question types

Choose multiple choice, true/false or short answer, and how many questions you want.

Study or export

Practice in the browser, or export to a paid format to build a quiz for your class.

Percentage problems tend to fail in predictable places: confusing a percent with a decimal, finding the base for a discount, or mixing up percent increase and percent of a total. Explanations attached to each answer show which step went wrong, so practice sets do more than check a score.

Once the questions are generated, review them before you use them. Remove anything that does not match your course, adjust the wording, and keep the explanations your students will see.

Frequently asked questions

How do I calculate a percentage score on a quiz?

Divide the points earned by the total points possible, then multiply by 100. For example, 34 out of 40 is 34 ÷ 40 = 0.85, which is 85%.

What is the formula for percentage change?

Subtract the original value from the new value, divide by the original value, then multiply by 100. A rise from 50 to 60 is a 20% increase because 10 ÷ 50 = 0.20.

Can I export these questions to a file?

Exports are paid features. Plus includes PDF, DOCX, Anki and CSV export, and Pro adds QTI 2.1 and Moodle XML.

Is there a free plan, and do I need a credit card?

The free plan includes 3 generations per month with browser study, and you do not need a credit card to start.
