Turn your own SAT practice test into questions with explanations

DeckOwl does not include official College Board tests, so it cannot rate their difficulty. It can turn the practice test you already have, plus your notes, into multiple-choice, true/false and short-answer questions with explanations, so you can find and close your own gaps.

How hard is SAT practice test 5, really?

Students who finish SAT practice test 5 and wonder whether it was harder than the others usually want a fair answer, not a guess. The best measure is your own result under timed conditions, compared with your target score. DeckOwl cannot tell you how that exact test compares with the real exam, but it can help you measure readiness: upload the test PDF or your notes and generate a new set of questions on the same skills.

  • Time yourself on a full section before deciding whether the test felt hard.
  • Sort every missed question by skill, such as reading, grammar, algebra or geometry.
  • Rewrite any explanation you do not understand in your own words before retesting.
  • Retake a freshly generated set after a few days instead of repeating the same questions.
Example SAT practice questions with answers
If 3x + 7 = 22, what is the value of x?x = 5. Subtracting 7 from both sides gives 3x = 15, and dividing by 3 gives x = 5.
In the sentence 'The critic's remarks were laconic, offering only two words of praise,' what does laconic mean?Laconic means using very few words. The sentence's second clause restates it, so the context shows the meaning.
Is the function f(x) = x^2 - 4 even, odd, or neither?Even. f(-x) = (-x)^2 - 4 = x^2 - 4 = f(x), which matches the definition of an even function.
Which correction fixes the comma splice in 'The results were clear, the team was not ready for them'?Replace the comma with a semicolon: 'The results were clear; the team was not ready for them.' Two independent clauses need a semicolon or a period, not a comma alone.
What is the area of a circle with radius 3?9π. The area formula is πr², and 3² = 9, so the area is 9π.

Questions from your own material

Upload a PDF, slides, DOCX, plain-text notes or a photo of a page. Questions are built from what you give it.

Explanations for every answer

Each multiple-choice, true/false and short-answer question includes an explanation, so a missed item teaches you why.

Spaced repetition on Plus

Turn missed questions into flashcards that come back at spaced intervals, so weak skills get review before the real test.

How it works

Upload your practice test

Add the PDF or the answer explanations you already have, or type your own notes.

Pick question types

Choose multiple-choice, true/false or short answer, and generate a fresh set on the same skills.

Retake and track gaps

Work through the set, check explanations for every miss, then retest a few days later.

Difficulty on a practice test often comes down to a few areas: dense reading passages, multi-step algebra, and grammar rules that are easy to misremember. Generated questions come with explanations, so each miss points to a concept to review. Turn the items you got wrong into flashcards, then review them with spaced repetition on the Plus plan to see whether the gap is closing.

Frequently asked questions

How do I tell if an SAT practice test is hard for me?

Take it under timed conditions and compare your score with your own target, not with a general label. Note which question types cost you the most time or caused the most misses.

What SAT topics should I drill first?

Start with the areas where you lost the most points, such as multi-step algebra, reading comprehension or punctuation rules. Short, frequent sessions work better than one long cram session.

Can DeckOwl tell me how hard the official test is?

No. DeckOwl does not include official College Board tests, so it cannot rate their difficulty. It generates questions from material you upload, such as your own practice test PDF or notes.

Can I export the generated questions?

PDF, DOCX, Anki and CSV export are on the Plus plan at $39/year or $7.99/month. QTI 2.1 and Moodle XML export are on Pro at $14.99/month, and the free plan is limited to 3 generations per month with browser study only.
