Why a Vedic math quiz helps

Vedic math packs multiplication, squaring and division shortcuts into a set of sutras, and a Vedic math quiz is the quickest way to find out which tricks have actually stuck and which ones you still mix up.

  • Test each sutra on the number patterns your teacher used.
  • Mix true/false questions to catch common misconceptions about when a shortcut applies.
  • Retake the quiz after a day to see what you remember without the notes open.
  • Redo missed questions by working the method on paper before reading the explanation.
Example Vedic math quiz questions
Using the Nikhilam method, what is 98 × 96?9,408. Both numbers are close to 100, so 98 − 4 = 94 gives the left part and 2 × 4 = 08 gives the right part.
Using the Ekadhikena purvena sutra, what is 35 squared?1,225. Multiply 3 by 4 to get 12, then append 25 because 5 squared is 25.
Using Urdhva-Tiryagbhyam, what is 12 × 13?156. The vertical products 2 × 3 = 6 and 1 × 1 = 1, plus the crosswise sum 1 × 3 + 2 × 1 = 5, give 156.
Using the shortcut for multiplying by 11, what is 53 × 11?583. Add the two digits, 5 + 3 = 8, and place the sum between them.
True or false: Vedic math sutras only work for multiplication.False. The sutras also cover squaring, division and other calculations, such as the Paravartya method for division.

Built from your material

Questions come from the sutras and worked examples in your own notes, so the quiz matches what your class actually covered.

Explanations for every answer

Each question shows why the correct answer is right, which helps when a Vedic shortcut looks right but has a wrong step.

Question types you can mix

Choose multiple-choice, true/false or open questions, or combine them in one quiz for a fuller check.

How it works

Upload your notes

Add a PDF, DOCX, PPTX, plain text file or a photo of a handwritten page.

Pick the question types

Select multiple-choice, true/false or open questions and how many you want.

Take the quiz and review

Work through the quiz in your browser, then read the explanation for each question you missed.

Most people who study these methods get stuck on the conditions: when Nikhilam works best, or which sutra fits a given number pattern. A quiz built from your own notes tests those conditions directly, so you practice the decision as well as the steps.

Frequently asked questions

Is Vedic math faster than standard long multiplication?

It is often faster for specific patterns, such as numbers close to a power of ten or squaring numbers that end in 5. For general multiplication, the standard method remains more reliable.

How do I practice Vedic math without a calculator?

Start with one sutra at a time, work five or six problems that fit its pattern, and check each answer with a calculator. Then move to mixed problems so you learn to choose the right method.

Can I export a Vedic math quiz?

Yes, but export is a paid feature. PDF and DOCX export are included in the Plus plan, and QTI 2.1 and Moodle XML export are included in Pro.

Do I need a credit card to start?

No. The free plan gives you 3 generations per month and lets you study in the browser, and you can upgrade later if you need more.
