Join a Quizizz game, or turn your own notes into a quiz
DeckOwl doesn't run live games or take join codes. It reads your PDFs, slides, notes or page photos and writes multiple-choice, true/false and short answer questions with explanations that you can study in the browser.
Joining a live game versus making your own quiz
Most people typing Quizizz game join are holding a code on a classroom screen and need to get into the session before it starts. That is a live game hosted by another service, and DeckOwl does not host games, display join codes or run real-time sessions.
- Questions are based on the notes or slides you upload, not a generic question bank.
- Multiple choice, true/false and short answer formats are available.
- Every question includes an explanation of the correct answer.
- Students get 40% off Plus or Pro with a school email.
Built from your material
Upload a PDF, DOCX, PPTX, plain text notes or a photo of a page, and get questions based on what you actually need to learn.
Explanations on every answer
Each multiple-choice, true/false and short answer question comes with an explanation, so wrong answers teach you something.
Export when you need it
Paid plans export to PDF, DOCX, Anki and CSV. Pro adds QTI 2.1 and Moodle XML for classes that run on an LMS.
How it works
Upload your notes or slides
Add a PDF, DOCX, PPTX, text file or photos of pages. Text in images is read with text recognition.
Pick a question type
Choose multiple choice, true/false or short answer, then generate the set.
Study or export
Work through the quiz in your browser, or export it if you are on a paid plan.
What DeckOwl does is generate a quiz from your own course material. Free accounts get 3 generations a month and study in the browser. Plus costs $39/year or $7.99/month for unlimited generations and PDF, DOCX, Anki and CSV export. Pro costs $14.99/month and adds a stronger AI model, bulk upload, and QTI 2.1 and Moodle XML export.
If you have a school email, students get 40% off, and you can start without a credit card. Upload the notes from your next lesson and compare the questions it writes with the ones you would have written yourself.

Frequently asked questions
How often should I quiz myself on new material?
Quiz yourself within a day of the lesson, then again after a few days and once more before the test. Short sessions spaced across the week work better than one long cram.
How do I know if a practice quiz is working?
If you can answer a question without looking at your notes and can explain why the wrong options are wrong, the material is sticking. Missed questions show you what to review next.
Can I host a live game with a join code in DeckOwl?
No. DeckOwl does not run live games or assign join codes. It generates quizzes you study on your own, and paid plans can export them.
Which export formats are included in each plan?
The free plan has no exports. Plus includes PDF, DOCX, Anki and CSV export, and Pro adds QTI 2.1 and Moodle XML.
