Why a question maker beats writing every quiz by hand

Most quiz tools make you type every question yourself, which eats the time you wanted for planning lessons. A quizizz question maker that reads your own material starts from what is actually in the reading and the slides, so the questions match what you covered in class.

  • Works from PDFs, slides, notes and photos of pages
  • Multiple-choice, true/false and short answer formats
  • Explanations written for every question
  • Exports to PDF and DOCX, plus QTI 2.1 and Moodle XML on Pro

What was the name of the Allied campaign that began with the Normandy landings?Operation Overlord. The June 6, 1944 landings were the opening assault of this campaign in Western Europe.

Three question types

Generate multiple-choice, true/false or short answer questions from the same material, so you can mix formats in one quiz.

Explanations on every item

Each question comes with a short explanation of the correct answer, which helps students learn from wrong choices as well as right ones.

Export when you need it

Download questions as PDF or DOCX on Plus, and as QTI 2.1 or Moodle XML on Pro for your learning management system.

How it works

Upload your material

Add a PDF, DOCX, PPTX, plain text file or photo of a page. Images are read with text recognition.

Choose the question type

Pick multiple choice, true/false or short answer, and set how many questions you want.

Review and edit

Check each question and explanation against your source, then study in the browser or export the set.

Good questions test understanding, not just recall. Asking for a mix of multiple-choice, true/false and short answer items lets you check both quick facts and whether students can explain a idea in their own words.

Because each question includes an explanation, you can review the set with students and show why an answer is right or wrong, not just which letter to pick.

Frequently asked questions

How many questions should a WWII quiz have?

Most review quizzes work well with 10 to 20 questions, which is enough to cover the main events without taking too long. Shorter quizzes of five to ten questions suit a single lesson or a quick check after reading.

What makes a good multiple-choice question about World War II?

Good options are plausible, so a student who only half remembers the event still has to think about it. Avoid answers that are obviously wrong, and make sure only one option is correct.

Can I export questions to QTI or Moodle XML?

Yes, QTI 2.1 and Moodle XML export are available on the Pro plan. PDF and DOCX export are included in Plus.

Is there a free plan?

The Free plan includes 3 generations per month and lets you study in the browser, but exports are not included. You can start without a credit card.
