Using your own material for SAT practice

Students who finish SAT practice test 8 often check only the score and move on, which wastes the most useful part of the exercise. The real gain comes from knowing why each wrong choice fails and which skill it tested.

  • Upload only material you have the rights to use, such as your own printouts or notes from a class.
  • Work one section at a time so the explanations stay tied to a single skill.
  • Re-attempt missed questions after a few days instead of rereading the whole answer key.
  • Keep a short list of error types, such as careless arithmetic or misread grammar rules.
Example SAT practice questions to try
Solve for x: 3x + 7 = 22x = 5, because subtracting 7 from both sides leaves 3x = 15.
Which completes the sentence? Neither of the two finalists ___ ready for the interview. (was / were)was, because neither is singular and takes a singular verb.
What is the slope of the line through (1, 2) and (3, 8)?3, because (8 − 2) divided by (3 − 1) equals 3.
What is the area of a circle with radius 4? Give the answer in terms of pi.16π, because the formula A = πr² gives π × 4², which equals 16π.
Which completes the sentence? The team's strategy, along with its training plan, ___ under review. (is / are)is, because the subject is the singular noun strategy, and the phrase along with its training plan does not change the verb.

Questions from your own PDF

Upload a practice test PDF you have the rights to use, and DeckOwl writes multiple-choice, true/false, or open questions from its content.

Explanations for every answer

Each question comes with an explanation, so a wrong answer becomes a lesson about the reasoning you missed.

Photos and slides work too

Snap a photo of a printed page or upload slides, and text recognition reads the material before questions are generated.

How it works

Upload your material

Add a PDF, DOCX, PPTX, plain text notes, or a photo of the pages you want to practice from.

Choose the question types

Pick multiple-choice, true/false, or short answer questions, and generate a set sized for one study session.

Take the quiz and review

Answer in the browser, read each explanation, and return to missed questions later with spaced repetition.

DeckOwl works from the material you bring. If you already own a copy of a practice test, upload it and the tool builds questions with explanations you can review by section. Exports to PDF or DOCX are included in the Plus plan, and QTI 2.1 and Moodle XML exports are included in Pro.
