How to use SAT practice questions with answers

Most printed SAT prep books give you one fixed set of sat practice test questions with answers, and that set rarely matches the skills you are working on this week. DeckOwl does not ship a ready-made question bank. Instead, it writes new questions from the material you already have, such as your class handouts or the sections of a prep book you have scanned.

  • Start with the section you score lowest on and generate questions only from that material.
  • Read the explanation even when you answered correctly, since it can confirm the reasoning behind the right choice.
  • Keep a list of the rules you keep missing, such as subject-verb agreement or slope formulas.
  • Redo missed questions after a day or two rather than right after you read the answer.
Example SAT math and grammar practice questions
If 3x + 7 = 22, what is the value of x?x = 5. Subtract 7 from both sides to get 3x = 15, then divide by 3.
Choose the correct verb: Neither the students nor the teacher (was/were) ready for the exam.was. With neither/nor, the verb agrees with the closer subject, which is the singular teacher.
True or false: the SAT takes away points for wrong answers.False. The SAT does not deduct points for incorrect answers, so answering every question is worthwhile.
What is the area of a circle with radius 4?16π. The formula is A = πr², so A = π × 4² = 16π.
For the line y = -2x + 5, what is the slope?-2. In slope-intercept form y = mx + b, the slope m is the coefficient of x.

Multiple choice, true/false and open questions

Pick the question style that fits your prep. Each one comes with an explanation of the correct answer.

Built from your own material

Upload a PDF, slide deck, DOCX file, plain notes or a photo of a page. Questions come from what you actually study.

Export when you need a printout

Paid plans export to PDF and DOCX so you can print a set. Pro adds QTI 2.1 and Moodle XML for teachers.

How it works

Upload your SAT material

Add a PDF, slides, notes or a photo of a practice page. Text in images is read with text recognition.

Choose a question type and count

Select multiple choice, true/false or open questions. Each generation gives you a set to work through.

Answer, check and review

Check each answer against its explanation, then revisit the questions you missed until they stick.

Work in short passes. Answer a set without looking at the explanations, mark what you got wrong, then read the explanation for each miss before you move on. Repeat the missed questions later so the same mistakes do not come back on test day.

Frequently asked questions

How many SAT practice questions should I answer each day?

There is no single right number. A steady daily set that you fully review is more useful than a long set you skim, so pick an amount you can finish with explanations.

Is it better to review wrong answers or move on quickly?

Review them first. Reading why an answer is wrong and then retrying the question later does more for retention than simply counting your score.

Can I export my practice questions to PDF?

Yes, PDF and DOCX export are included on the Plus plan at $39/year or $7.99/month. QTI 2.1 and Moodle XML export are on the Pro plan.

Do I need a credit card to try it?

No. You can start on the free plan with 3 generations per month and study in the browser. Students can get 40% off with a school email.
