Reading your SAT practice score report

Your SAT practice test score report lists a total score, section scores, and skill-level subscores, and each one points to a different study move. DeckOwl does not provide ready-made or printable score reports, so the useful version starts with your own material: upload the review pages from your practice test and the AI builds questions with explanations from them.

  • Check the total score first, then compare each section score against your target.
  • Use subscores and percentile rank to find the skills behind the missed points.
  • Review every explanation for a missed question before trying new questions on that skill.
  • Retake a short quiz on the same skill after a few days to confirm the gap is closing.
Example SAT score report terms to study
What is the score range for the total SAT score?400 to 1600, the sum of the Reading and Writing section and the Math section.
What is the score range for each SAT section?200 to 800 for Reading and Writing and for Math, each reported separately.
What does a percentile rank on a score report show? The percentage of test takers in the comparison group who scored the same or lower than you.
What is the difference between a raw score and a scaled score?A raw score counts the questions answered correctly, while a scaled score converts it to the reported range so different test forms compare fairly.
What is the most useful next step after reading a practice score report?Group missed questions by skill, review each explanation, then retest that skill with new questions to see if the gap closes.

Quizzes from your own pages

Upload a PDF, DOCX, PPTX, notes, or a photo of your answer review and get multiple-choice, true/false, or short-answer questions with explanations.

Flashcards with spaced repetition

Turn vocabulary, formulas, and skill definitions into cards that come back just before you would forget them.

Mind maps by skill

Map your score report into branches for reading, writing, and math so the weakest areas stand out.

How it works

Upload your review pages

Add the PDF, slides, notes, or a photo of the missed-question review from your practice test.

Pick a format

Choose quizzes, flashcards, or a mind map, and focus the set on the skills your score report flagged.

Retest the weak skills

Work through the explanations, then retake the quiz until the same skill stops showing up as missed.

Start with the section that dropped the most points. Group your missed questions by skill, such as Heart of Algebra or Words in Context, then drill only those skills until the subscores move. Use flashcards for vocabulary and formulas, and save timed quizzes for the final check before your next full practice test.

Frequently asked questions

How do I read an SAT practice test score report?

Start with the total score on the 400 to 1600 scale, then check each section score on the 200 to 800 scale. Use the subscores and percentile rank to find the skill areas where you lost the most points.

What should I study after a low SAT practice section score?

Sort your missed questions by skill, then review the explanation for each one before doing new questions on that skill. Retesting the same skill a few days later shows whether the gap is closing.

Can DeckOwl give me a printable SAT score report?

No, DeckOwl does not supply official or ready-made score reports. It builds custom quizzes and flashcards from the review pages and notes you upload, and PDF and DOCX export are included in the Plus plan.

Is there a free plan, and what does it include?

The free plan includes 3 generations per month and studying in the browser, and no credit card is needed to start. Exports require a paid plan: PDF, DOCX, Anki, and CSV on Plus, and QTI 2.1 and Moodle XML on Pro.
