Turn your SAT prep material into a test with answers and explanations
Upload a practice PDF, class notes or slides. DeckOwl writes multiple-choice, true/false and open questions, each with a clear explanation of why the answer is right.
Why answers alone are not enough for SAT prep
When you miss a timed reading question, an answer key tells you the letter but not why the other three choices failed. A SAT practice test with answers and explanations closes that gap, and you can build one from the practice PDF or class notes you already have instead of searching for a ready-made copy. DeckOwl does not supply official SAT questions. It writes new questions from the material you upload, so the test matches your own sources.
- Multiple-choice, true/false and open questions, each with an explanation
- Questions drawn from the PDFs, slides or notes you upload
- Study in the browser on the free plan with 3 generations per month
- Export to PDF or DOCX on Plus, and to QTI 2.1 or Moodle XML on Pro
Explanations for every answer
Each question includes a short explanation of the correct choice, so you can see why the other options fail as well as why one works.
Built from your material
Questions come from the practice tests, notes and slides you upload, so the review matches the topics your course or prep book actually covers.
Study it your way
Work through the test in the browser on the free plan, then add spaced repetition and PDF or DOCX export on Plus.
How it works
Upload your source
Add a PDF, DOCX, PPTX, text file or photos of pages. Photos are read with text recognition.
Choose a question type
Pick multiple choice, true/false or short answer. Each question comes with an answer and an explanation.
Take the test and review
Answer under timed conditions, then read every explanation, including the ones you got right.
Explanations matter most for math and grammar, where a wrong answer usually comes from one specific mistake, such as dropping a negative sign or joining two clauses with a comma alone. Reading the explanation right after each question makes it easier to spot that pattern and fix it before test day.
Start with one short timed set, review every explanation, then retake the questions you missed a few days later. Repeating only the questions that still trip you up uses your study time better than rereading the whole book.

Frequently asked questions
How many SAT practice questions should I do in one session?
Short timed sets work better than one long sitting for most students. Stop after a set, read every explanation, and note which question types caused the most misses.
Should I read the explanations for questions I answered correctly?
Yes, especially if you guessed. A correct answer reached by luck still points to a gap that the explanation can fill.
Does DeckOwl include official SAT questions?
No. DeckOwl builds practice questions from the material you upload, such as a practice PDF, class notes or slides, so the questions match your own source.
Do I have to pay to export a practice test?
The free plan studies in the browser with 3 generations per month and no exports. PDF and DOCX export start on Plus, and QTI 2.1 and Moodle XML export are on Pro.
