Why build your Anki deck from your own notes

Most people who want to create an Anki deck online already have the material they need: lecture slides, a textbook chapter, or photos of handwritten notes. Starting from that content means the cards match what your course actually tests.

  • Upload PDF, DOCX, PPTX, plain text or image files
  • Flashcards that repeat on a spaced schedule
  • Free plan: 3 generations a month, study in the browser
  • Plus adds Anki, PDF, DOCX and CSV export
Example Newton's laws of motion flashcards
State Newton's first law of motion. An object stays at rest or in uniform motion unless a net external force acts on it. This is also called the law of inertia.
State Newton's second law and its formula. The net force on an object equals its mass times its acceleration, F = ma. Acceleration points in the direction of the net force.
State Newton's third law of motion. For every action force there is an equal and opposite reaction force. The two forces act on different objects, so they do not cancel.
What is inertia?Inertia is an object's tendency to resist changes in its state of motion. More mass means more inertia.
Why does a person push forward when walking? The foot pushes backward on the ground, and the ground pushes the foot forward with an equal and opposite force. This is Newton's third law.

Starts from your material

Upload PDFs, DOCX, PPTX, plain text notes or photos of pages. Text in images is read with text recognition.

Spaced repetition built in

Cards come back on a schedule timed to when you are about to forget them, so review time goes to the cards that need it.

Anki export on Plus

Plus exports your deck for Anki, along with PDF, DOCX and CSV. The free plan keeps studying in the browser.

How it works

Upload your material

Add a PDF, slide deck, Word file, text notes or a photo of a page.

Generate the cards

Choose flashcards and get a set built from your content. The free plan includes 3 generations a month.

Export to Anki

On Plus, export the deck to Anki and study there, or keep studying in the browser.

Spaced repetition handles the scheduling once the cards exist, so your time goes to recalling answers instead of sorting them. Check each generated card before you study, since drafts can be edited or deleted if they miss the point.

Frequently asked questions

How many flashcards should I make for Newton's laws of motion?

Start with one card per law plus one for each key term, such as inertia, force and acceleration. Add cards for worked examples once the basics feel automatic.

How do I study an Anki deck effectively?

Review every day in short sessions and rate each card honestly so the spacing adjusts to what you actually remember. Explain the answer in your own words before you flip the card.

Can I export my deck to Anki for free?

Anki export is a Plus feature. The free plan lets you study flashcards in the browser with 3 generations per month.

Do I need a credit card to try it?

No. You can start on the free plan without a credit card, and students get 40% off with a school email.
