How to practice numbers 1-10 at home

Number flashcards 1-10 are one of the first tools young children use to connect a numeral with a quantity and a spoken word. A card that shows five dots, the numeral 5 and the word five covers all three at once.

  • Count real objects first, then match each group to its numeral.
  • Practice writing and saying each number in words, not only as digits.
  • Mix small counting questions with comparisons like which number is greater.
  • Review a short set every day instead of one long session each week.
Example number 1-10 flashcards for early counting
What number comes right after 6?7. Counting forward from 6 gives 7, then 8, 9 and 10.
How do you write the number 8 in words?Eight. The numeral 8 and the word eight name the same quantity.
Which number is one less than 9?8. Subtracting 1 from 9 gives 8.
Which is greater, 3 or 7?7. It is larger because it comes later when counting up from 1.
What is 4 + 5?9. Start at 4 and count up five steps: 5, 6, 7, 8, 9.

Start from your own material

Upload a PDF, slides, notes or a photo of a worksheet. Text recognition reads the page so the cards match what your child is working on.

Spaced repetition built in

Cards you miss come back sooner, and ones you know come back less often, so numbers stick without daily drilling from a fixed sheet.

Quizzes and mind maps too

Turn the same material into multiple choice, true or false and short answer questions with explanations, or a mind map of how the numbers connect.

How it works

Upload your worksheet or photo

Add a PDF, image or text file. No credit card is needed to start.

Review the generated cards

Check the number cards, edit any that need changing, and keep the ones that fit your child's level.

Study with spaced repetition

Practice in the browser for free, or export to Anki or CSV on Plus if you want cards on another device.

Most ready-made sets are printed once and used the same way every time. A better approach is to start with the page your child brings home, such as a counting worksheet or a photo of a classroom board, and turn that into cards. The cards then reflect the exact numbers and wording your child is seeing.

Keep sessions short. Work on a few numbers at a time, mix in ones already learned, and move to the next number once the earlier ones come back easily.
