How to make a quiz from a web page

Reading an article once rarely sticks, so many students want an AI quiz generator from a URL that turns the page into questions they can answer. DeckOwl does not fetch links directly, so the practical route is to copy the article text or save the page as a PDF first.

  • Save the page as a PDF from your browser's print menu for the cleanest text.
  • Paste plain text when the page has menus or ads you do not want in the quiz.
  • Check the first few questions against the source before you rely on them.
  • Use true/false for quick recall and multiple-choice for telling close options apart.

Copy the article text, or save the page as a PDF from your browser's print menu.

Frequently asked questions

How many questions should a quiz on one article have?

Most articles support somewhere between 10 and 20 good questions, depending on length. A smaller set of focused questions often helps more than a long list of trivia.

How should I study a quiz after I take it?

Retake the questions you missed after a day, and read the explanation before checking the answer again. Spacing out reviews helps the material stick longer.

Can DeckOwl read a link directly?

No, it works from uploaded files, pasted text and photos of pages. Save the page as a PDF or copy its text first.

Can I export a quiz to Moodle?

Moodle XML export is part of the Pro plan, and PDF and DOCX export come with Plus. The free plan lets you study in the browser without exports.
