Why reported questions matter for review

Reported questions are a useful signal: when students flag a quiz item as wrong or ambiguous, that item deserves a second look before you trust it. DeckOwl cannot access Blooket reported questions or any report data, but it can build a clean review set from the material you already have.

  • Compare any flagged or disputed item against your original notes or textbook before you study it.
  • Write questions that test one idea each, so an answer key cannot be argued in two ways.
  • Use short answer questions to confirm you can explain an idea, not just recognize it.
  • Re-check your set after each study session and remove items that confuse you more than they teach.
Example reported speech practice questions
Rewrite in reported speech: Maria said, 'I am tired.'Maria said she was tired. Present tense moves back to past tense in reported speech.
Rewrite in reported speech: Tom asked, 'Where did you put my keys?'Tom asked me where I had put his keys. Questions use statement word order, and the past simple usually shifts to the past perfect.
Rewrite in reported speech: She said, 'We will move tomorrow.'She said they would move the next day. Will becomes would, and tomorrow changes to the next day in reported speech.
Rewrite in reported speech: He told me, 'Don't touch the wire.'He told me not to touch the wire. Commands are reported with tell plus an object and a to-infinitive.
Rewrite in reported speech: I saw her yesterday, she said. She said she had seen her the day before. Yesterday becomes the day before, and the past simple usually shifts to the past perfect.

Questions from your material

Upload a PDF, DOCX, PPTX, text file or photo of a page, and get questions written from that content.

Explanations for every answer

Each multiple-choice, true/false and short answer question includes an explanation, so you can see why an answer is right before you study it.

Spaced repetition review

Missed questions come back at increasing intervals, so weak items get more practice than the ones you already know.

How it works

Upload your notes

Add a PDF, slides, a Word file, plain text or a photo of your notes. Text in photos is read with text recognition.

Generate and check questions

Choose multiple-choice, true/false or short answer, then read the explanations and remove any item that does not match your course material.

Practice in the browser

Study on the free plan with three generations per month, or upgrade to Plus to export to PDF, DOCX, Anki or CSV.

A good review set checks the same idea in several forms. Use multiple-choice questions for recall, true/false for quick checks of misconceptions, and short answer questions to test whether you can explain the concept in your own words.

Read each explanation and compare it with your textbook or lecture slides. If an answer key conflicts with your notes, edit the question or drop it, and keep the items that teach the concept clearly.

Frequently asked questions

Can DeckOwl show me Blooket reported questions?

No. DeckOwl does not connect to Blooket or its reports. It creates questions from the PDFs, slides or notes you upload, so you can review and correct them yourself.

How do I check whether a disputed quiz question is correct?

Look up the concept in your textbook or lecture slides and confirm which answer matches the source. If the wording allows more than one correct answer, rewrite the question so only one option fits.

Does DeckOwl export questions to Moodle or QTI?

Yes. QTI 2.1 and Moodle XML export are part of the Pro plan. PDF and DOCX export are included in Plus, and Plus is $39 per year or $7.99 per month.

How many practice questions should I write for reported speech?

Start with 10 to 15 questions that cover each tense shift, pronoun change and time expression. Add more items for any type you keep missing.
