Turn your own notes into AI practice quizzes
DeckOwl doesn't answer live forms. It writes multiple-choice, true/false and short-answer questions from your material so you can learn the content first.
Why practice from your own material beats a copied answer key
Google Form quiz practice helps most when the questions come from the content you are studying, not from someone else's answer key. DeckOwl builds those questions from your own notes, so every item tracks what your course actually covered.
- Works from PDFs, slides, DOCX files, text notes and photos of pages
- Multiple-choice, true/false and short-answer questions with explanations
- Free plan gives 3 generations per month and browser study
- Plus and Pro add exports, including PDF, DOCX, Anki and CSV, plus QTI 2.1 and Moodle XML on Pro
Questions from your files
Upload a PDF, DOCX, PPTX, plain text notes or a photo of a page, and get questions based on that material.
Explanations for every answer
Each multiple-choice, true/false and short-answer question comes with a short explanation of why the answer is correct.
Spaced repetition built in
Flashcards and quiz items come back at increasing intervals so you retain what you miss.
How it works
Upload your material
Add lecture slides, a chapter PDF or your own typed notes. Free accounts start with no credit card.
Choose a question type
Pick multiple choice, true/false or open questions and set how many you want.
Practice and review misses
Answer in the browser, read the explanations and revisit the questions you got wrong.
It does not submit answers to a live Google Form or any third-party quiz. Its job is to help you quiz yourself before the real test, with explanations that show the reasoning behind each correct answer.
Typing an answer and then checking the explanation forces recall, which is what makes the material stick. Repeat the questions you missed over several days for the best results.

Frequently asked questions
Can DeckOwl fill in a Google Form for me?
No. DeckOwl works from the files and notes you upload and does not connect to or answer live Google Forms or other third-party quizzes.
How many practice questions should I make for a unit test?
Start with 15 to 25 questions across the chapters on the test, then add more on the topics you miss most. Mix question types so you practice both recognition and recall.
How should I study from quiz explanations?
Answer each question before you look at the explanation, then write one sentence in your own words about why the answer is right. Return to the missed questions after a day or two.
Can I export my quizzes to Moodle?
Yes, on the Pro plan, which includes QTI 2.1 and Moodle XML export. Plus adds PDF, DOCX, Anki and CSV export, and the Free plan is for studying in the browser only.
