Turn your multiplication and division notes into a math quiz

Upload a worksheet, slides or notes and get multiple-choice, true/false or open questions with explanations. Ready-made quizzes can work for a quick look, but a quiz built from your own material matches what your class actually covered.

Why build the quiz from your own material

A multiplication and division math quiz works best when it reflects the exact facts your students have been practicing, such as the 7 and 8 times tables or two-step division with remainders. Printed sheets from the internet cover generic drills, which may skip the methods your teacher used in class.

  • Questions written from your own worksheet, notes or slides
  • Multiple choice, true/false and open questions with explanations
  • Study in the browser for free, with 3 generations per month
  • PDF and DOCX export on Plus, and QTI 2.1 and Moodle XML export on Pro
Example multiplication and division practice questions
What is 7 × 8?56. Seven groups of eight make 56, and the order of the factors does not change the product.
What is 72 ÷ 9?8. Because 9 × 8 = 72, dividing 72 into 9 equal groups gives 8 in each group.
True or false: 12 ÷ 3 = 3 ÷ 12.False. Division is not commutative, so 12 ÷ 3 = 4 while 3 ÷ 12 = 0.25.
A bag holds 6 apples. How many apples are in 4 bags?24. Multiply 6 by 4 because each of the 4 equal bags contains 6 apples.
What is 45 ÷ 6, written as a quotient with a remainder?7 remainder 3. Since 6 × 7 = 42 and 45 − 42 = 3, the remainder is 3.

Questions from your own material

Upload a PDF, DOCX, PPTX, text file or a photo of a page, and the quiz is written from what is on it.

Three question types

Choose multiple choice, true/false or short answer. Each question comes with an explanation so students learn from wrong answers.

Ready to share

Study in the browser on the free plan. Plus adds PDF and DOCX export, and Pro adds QTI 2.1 and Moodle XML for learning systems.

How it works

Upload your notes

Add a worksheet, slide deck, notes or a photo of a textbook page covering times tables or division facts.

Pick the question types

Choose multiple choice, true/false or open questions, then generate the quiz.

Practice and review

Answer the questions in the browser, read the explanations, and revisit anything you missed.

Generating the quiz from your own notes or worksheet keeps the questions aligned with that material. Mixing multiple choice, true/false and short answer questions tests both quick recall and whether students understand why an answer is right.

Explanations after each question turn a score into practice. A student who misses 56 ÷ 7 can see that 7 × 8 = 56 and try the next question with that relationship in mind.

Frequently asked questions

How many questions should a multiplication and division quiz include?

Ten to fifteen questions is usually enough to check a week of times tables or division facts without taking too long. Mix quick fact checks with a few word problems so students practice both recall and application.

Should students memorize multiplication facts before learning division?

Most students do better when they can recall multiplication facts quickly, because division undoes multiplication. Word problems are most useful once the basic facts feel automatic.

Can I export the quiz to share with a class?

PDF and DOCX export are included on the Plus plan at $39/year or $7.99/month. QTI 2.1 and Moodle XML export are available on the Pro plan at $14.99/month.

Do I need a credit card to try it?

No, you can start on the free plan without a credit card. It includes 3 generations per month and studying in the browser.
