Practice for Moodle quizzes with AI built from your own notes
Upload your course notes, slides or PDFs and get multiple-choice, true/false and short-answer questions with explanations. Free to start, no credit card needed.
What this tool does and does not do
Most students who type a moodle quiz solver into a search bar are short on time for a quiz they have not prepared for, and that is the situation DeckOwl does not address. It does not log into Moodle or answer graded quizzes for you.
- Questions come from your uploaded notes, slides or textbook chapters
- Multiple-choice, true/false and short-answer formats with explanations
- Spaced repetition on flashcards for the terms you keep missing
- Free plan includes 3 generations per month with browser study
Built from your own material
Upload PDFs, DOCX, PPTX, notes or photos of pages and get questions based on what you gave it.
Explanations for every answer
Each multiple-choice, true/false or short-answer question includes an explanation, so wrong answers teach you something.
Moodle XML export on Pro
Pro includes QTI 2.1 and Moodle XML export, so instructors can import practice sets into their own course.
How it works
Upload your material
Add a PDF, slides, DOCX, plain text or a photo of your notes.
Generate practice questions
Choose multiple-choice, true/false or short-answer and generate a set from that content.
Practice and review
Answer in the browser, read the explanations, and retake the questions you missed.
What it does instead is turn your own course material into study questions. Upload a PDF, slides, a DOCX file or photos of notes, and DeckOwl generates multiple-choice, true/false and short-answer questions with explanations. Work through them before the quiz, then review what you missed.

Frequently asked questions
How many practice questions should I work through before a Moodle quiz?
Aim for enough questions to cover every unit the quiz will test, then keep retaking the ones you miss until you can explain why each answer is correct.
How can I study for a timed online quiz more effectively?
Practice under similar conditions by setting a timer and answering from memory, then read the explanations for anything you got wrong. Spaced review of missed questions works better than one long cram session.
Does DeckOwl answer questions in my Moodle course?
No. DeckOwl does not log into Moodle or answer graded quizzes. It generates practice questions from the notes or slides you upload, and you study them in the browser.
Can I export practice quizzes to Moodle?
Yes, on the Pro plan, which includes Moodle XML and QTI 2.1 export. Plus adds PDF, DOCX, Anki and CSV export, and the free plan is limited to browser study.
