Missing a Quizizz join code? Make your own quiz instead
DeckOwl doesn't issue codes for other quiz platforms. It writes multiple-choice, true/false and short answer questions with explanations from your PDFs, slides or notes.
What a quizizz join code does, and what to use instead
A quizizz join code is the short code a host shares so players can enter one live game session. DeckOwl does not create or host those codes, and it cannot join games on other platforms.
- Upload notes, slides, PDFs, DOCX or PPTX files, or a photo of a page.
- Choose multiple choice, true/false or short answer questions.
- Read an explanation for every answer, including the ones you missed.
- Export to PDF, DOCX, Anki or CSV on Plus, or to QTI 2.1 and Moodle XML on Pro.
Questions from your material
Upload PDFs, DOCX, PPTX, plain text or photos of pages and get multiple-choice, true/false and short answer questions.
Explanations with every answer
Each question comes with an explanation so you learn why the right answer is right, not just which one it is.
Export on paid plans
Plus exports to PDF, DOCX, Anki and CSV. Pro adds QTI 2.1 and Moodle XML for learning management systems.
How it works
Upload your material
Add a PDF, slide deck, document, set of notes or a photo of a page.
Choose a question type
Pick multiple choice, true/false or short answer questions for the topic you are studying.
Practice and review
Answer in the browser on the free plan, or export to your tools on a paid plan.
If you are studying for a class, the useful part is the material behind the game. DeckOwl reads your own notes or slides and writes a quiz from them, so you can review the content on your own schedule.
The free plan gives you 3 generations per month and browser study. Plus is $39/year or $7.99/month and adds unlimited generations and exports. Students get 40% off with a school email, and no credit card is needed to start.

Frequently asked questions
What should I do if a join code is rejected?
Check for typos such as O versus 0, and confirm the host's session is still open. If it still fails, ask the host for the current code, since a new session usually gets a new one.
How can I study for a live quiz if I don't have the code?
Review the same topics on your own by reading your notes and answering practice questions without looking at them. Go back over every miss until you can explain the correct answer.
Does DeckOwl export quizzes?
Yes. Plus exports to PDF, DOCX, Anki and CSV, and Pro adds QTI 2.1 and Moodle XML.
Can I try DeckOwl without a credit card?
Yes. The free plan gives 3 generations per month with study in the browser, and no credit card is needed to start.
