Know exactly how long each SAT practice test section takes
Digital SAT timings for each section, plus timed practice questions generated from the notes and PDFs you already have.
How the digital SAT's timing breaks down
Timing is the piece most students underestimate when they plan a full run-through, so it helps to know how long a SAT practice test takes before you block out an afternoon. The digital SAT is split into two sections: Reading and Writing, 64 minutes across two 32-minute modules, and Math, 70 minutes across two 35-minute modules. With a 10-minute break after Reading and Writing, a full-length run takes 134 minutes of testing time plus the break.
- Time each module at its real length, 32 or 35 minutes, before attempting a full run.
- Track which question types take longest so you know where pacing slips.
- Keep a short break plan so the 10-minute break does not turn into a longer one.
- Review every missed question's explanation before retaking the same set.
Questions from your own material
Upload PDFs, DOCX, PPTX, plain notes or photos of pages and get multiple-choice, true/false or open questions with explanations.
Spaced repetition
Flashcards with spaced repetition help the content and pacing stick between sessions, not just on test day.
Mind maps
Map the reading, writing and math topics as mind maps to see which areas your timed sets still miss.
How it works
Upload your material
Add a PDF, slides or notes covering the SAT topics you are studying.
Generate timed questions
Choose multiple-choice, true/false or open questions and set your own pace.
Review the explanations
Check each answer's explanation, then repeat the weak sections until your pacing holds.
Knowing the clock is only half the job. The more useful step is practicing with questions drawn from your own course materials and checkpoints. DeckOwl turns uploaded PDFs, slides or notes into multiple-choice, true/false or open questions with explanations, so you can time yourself on material you are actually studying. The free plan includes 3 generations a month and browser study; exports to PDF, DOCX, Anki and CSV need Plus, and QTI 2.1 and Moodle XML need Pro.

Frequently asked questions
How long is the digital SAT without breaks?
The digital SAT is 2 hours 14 minutes of testing time across its two sections. Reading and Writing takes 64 minutes and Math takes 70 minutes.
How should I time practice sessions for the SAT?
Time each module separately at its real length, 32 or 35 minutes, so you build pacing for that section. Start with one module at a time, then move to full runs once your pacing feels steady.
Can DeckOwl make SAT practice questions from my notes?
Yes, upload your PDFs, slides, DOCX files, notes or photos of pages and it generates multiple-choice, true/false or open questions with explanations. Check generated questions against your source material, since they are only as accurate as what you upload.
Do exports require a paid plan?
Yes, the free plan is for studying in the browser only. PDF, DOCX and CSV exports are on Plus at $39/year or $7.99/month, and QTI 2.1 and Moodle XML exports are on Pro at $14.99/month.
