Why a custom SAT math practice test works better

Printed practice tests are useful, but they rarely match the topics your class or your prep book covered this week. A sat practice test math section built from your own pages lets you drill exactly the linear equations, functions or geometry problems you are working on right now.

  • Questions drawn from your own prep book pages or class notes
  • Multiple-choice, true/false and short-answer formats with explanations
  • Regenerate on weak topics instead of repeating the same set
  • Study in the browser on the free plan, or export on a paid plan
Example SAT math practice questions
If 3x + 7 = 22, what is x?x = 5. Subtract 7 from both sides to get 3x = 15, then divide by 3.
What is the slope of the line y = -4x + 9?-4. In slope-intercept form y = mx + b, the coefficient m is the slope.
If f(x) = x² - 3, what is f(4)?13. Substituting 4 gives 16 - 3 = 13.
What is the solution to the system y = x + 2 and y = 2x - 1?(3, 5). Setting the equations equal gives x + 2 = 2x - 1, so x = 3 and y = 5.
Simplify (2x³)(4x²).8x⁵. Multiply the coefficients and add the exponents of the same base.

Built from your material

Upload PDFs, DOCX files, slides, plain text or photos of pages. The questions come from what you actually have, not a generic bank.

Explanations for every answer

Each question includes an explanation, so you can see which algebra or geometry step you missed instead of only seeing a score.

Quizzes and flashcards together

Turn the same notes into a timed-style practice set or spaced repetition flashcards for formulas and definitions you keep forgetting.

How it works

Upload your SAT math material

Add a PDF, a photo of a worksheet or your typed notes. Images are read with text recognition.

Choose a quiz format

Pick multiple choice, true/false or short answer, then generate the set.

Work through it and review misses

Answer the questions, read each explanation, and regenerate on the topics you missed.

Generating the set yourself also gives you a reason to read the material closely. The explanations show the reasoning behind each answer, so you can check your work and spot the step where your approach went wrong.

Frequently asked questions

How many questions should a SAT math practice set include?

Choose a set you can finish in one sitting and review fully. Shorter sets on specific topics, like systems of equations, usually give clearer feedback than one long mixed set.

How should I review wrong answers on SAT math practice?

Redo each missed problem without looking at the answer, then compare your steps to the explanation. Note the concept behind each miss and regenerate questions on that topic later.

Is there a free way to try DeckOwl for SAT math?

The free plan includes 3 generations per month and lets you study in the browser. No credit card is needed to start.

Can I export my SAT math practice test?

Exports are paid features. Plus at $39 per year or $7.99 per month includes PDF and DOCX export, and Pro at $14.99 per month adds QTI 2.1 and Moodle XML.
