How to study Arabic letters with flashcards

Most printable Arabic alphabet flashcards show all 28 letters in one fixed layout, which doesn't match how your class introduces them or which shapes give you trouble. A custom deck built from your own letter chart keeps the same order and the same examples your teacher uses.

  • Letters grouped by shape, with the dots that separate them
  • Sound and name on the back of each card
  • Practice with letters in isolation and inside short words
  • Export to PDF on Plus for printed copies

Start from your own material

Upload a PDF, slide deck, photo or plain-text notes. Letter charts from your class work just as well as a downloaded sheet.

Spaced repetition

Cards you miss come back sooner, and letters you know come back less often, so the harder shapes get more practice.

Export when you need a file

PDF, DOCX, Anki and CSV export are included in Plus, so you can print a set or move it into another app.

How it works

Upload your chart or notes

Add a PDF, image or text file with the letters on it. Photos of pages are read with text recognition.

Review the generated cards

Check the letter, its name and its sound, then study the deck in your browser on the free plan.

Export a PDF if you want print copies

Upgrade to Plus to export your deck as a PDF, or to Anki or CSV if you use another app.

Arabic letters change shape depending on whether they sit at the start, middle or end of a word, and many letters share a base form that differs only by dots. Put those letters in their own cards, such as ب, ت and ث, so you learn to tell them apart by the dots and not by memory alone.

Study a small group each day and let spaced repetition bring back the letters you miss. Once the shapes feel automatic, move on to short words and then to reading whole lines of text.

Frequently asked questions

How many letters are in the Arabic alphabet?

The Arabic alphabet has 28 letters, and it is written from right to left. Several letters are easy to confuse because they share a base shape and differ only in the number or position of dots.

How should I study the Arabic letters?

Learn letters in small groups by shape rather than in alphabetical order. Review a few cards each day, since short repeated sessions usually stick better than one long session.

Can I download the flashcards as a PDF?

PDF export is a Plus feature, priced at $99.90/year or $9.99/month. The free plan lets you study the cards in your browser but doesn't include exports.

Do I need a credit card to start?

No. You can start on the free plan with 3 generations per month and no credit card. Students get 40% off with a school email.
