Why build your own SAT vocabulary deck

Many students finish a prep course with a long list of words and no clear way to review them before test day. DeckOwl does not include a prebuilt Magoosh vocabulary flashcards for the SAT deck, and we don't have Magoosh's materials. What it does is turn the vocabulary pages you already have into a deck that matches your list.

  • Cards built from the exact words on your list, not a generic set
  • Photos of printed pages are read with text recognition
  • Spaced repetition schedules the hard words more often
  • Export to Anki or CSV on the Plus plan
Example SAT vocabulary flashcards
AbateTo lessen or diminish in intensity. The storm finally abated by evening.
LaconicUsing very few words; brief. Her laconic reply ended the argument.
ObfuscateTo make something unclear or harder to understand, often on purpose.
TenaciousHolding firmly to a goal or belief; persistent. She stayed tenacious through every practice test.
AmeliorateTo make a bad situation or condition better. New funding helped ameliorate the overcrowding.

Spaced repetition

Cards come back at the intervals where you are most likely to forget them, so the words you miss show up more often.

Built from your files

Upload PDFs, DOCX or PPTX files, plain-text notes, or a photo of a page, and the text is pulled out to create the cards.

Quizzes and mind maps

Turn the same word list into multiple choice, true/false or short answer questions with explanations, or map related words visually.

How it works

Add your word list

Upload the PDF, slides, notes or a photo of your vocabulary pages.

Generate flashcards

The AI writes term and definition cards from your material.

Review on schedule

Study in the browser on the free plan, or export to Anki, CSV or PDF on Plus.

Upload a PDF of your word list, a slide deck from class, or a photo of your study notes. The AI reads the text, pulls out the terms and writes definition cards, and spaced repetition brings back the words you keep missing. Add example sentences from your own reading so each card has context.

Frequently asked questions

How many new SAT vocabulary words should I learn each day?

Many students do well with a steady daily batch, often around 10 to 20 new words. Reviewing older cards matters as much as adding new ones.

Is it better to learn SAT words in context or as definitions alone?

Seeing a word in a sentence helps you remember how it is used, so pair each definition with an example sentence when you can. Test questions often ask about usage in context, so this habit carries over.

Can I export these flashcards to Anki?

Yes, Anki export is included with the Plus plan at $99.90/year or $9.99/month, along with PDF, DOCX and CSV export. The free plan lets you study in the browser but does not include exports.

Is there a free plan to try it?

Yes, the free plan includes 3 generations per month and browser study, and you do not need a credit card to start. Students can get 40% off with a school email.
