Find how kids join Gimkit, then practice from your own notes
DeckOwl does not host live games or join codes. It builds multiple-choice, true/false and short answer quizzes from the notes, slides or PDFs you already have, with an explanation for every answer.
What to do if you need a Gimkit game code
A kid can only join a Gimkit game after the teacher starts it and shares the code, so how kids join Gimkit depends on that teacher and that game, not on a study tool. If the code is not working, ask the teacher to check that the game is still open and that the code was copied correctly.
- Use the code your teacher shares; DeckOwl cannot generate or look up Gimkit codes.
- Upload your own class notes or slides to create questions on the topics you are learning.
- Read the explanation after each answer so you know why it was right or wrong.
- Come back to missed questions with spaced repetition instead of rereading everything.
Quizzes from your material
Upload a PDF, DOCX, PPTX, plain text notes or a photo of a page, and get questions with explanations.
Flashcards with spaced repetition
Review the terms you miss more often so they stick before the next test.
Study in the browser
The free plan includes 3 generations a month and no credit card is needed to start.
How it works
Add your notes
Upload the slides, handout or notes your class is studying.
Pick a question type
Choose multiple choice, true/false or short answer for your practice set.
Practice and review
Answer the questions, read each explanation and revisit the ones you missed.
DeckOwl is a separate product. It does not connect to Gimkit and does not run live games. What it does well is turn the material your class already uses into practice you can do alone, so you can review before the game or the test.
When you want something to study between games, upload your notes and generate a quiz. Free accounts can study in the browser, and paid plans add exports to PDF, DOCX and Anki.

Frequently asked questions
How do I study for a multiplication test in grade 4?
Practice short sets of facts often rather than one long session, and check each answer by using the related division fact. Repeated review over several days helps facts stick better than cramming.
Can I use DeckOwl to find the code for a Gimkit game?
No. DeckOwl does not connect to Gimkit or host live games, so your teacher is the one who can give you the code to join.
Can I export my quiz questions?
Exports are paid features. Plus includes PDF, DOCX, Anki and CSV export, and Pro adds QTI 2.1 and Moodle XML export.
Is there a free plan?
Yes. The free plan includes 3 generations a month and studying in the browser, and you do not need a credit card to start.
