Why a wiki page is not the same as practice

A gimkit wiki page can explain how a game works, but it cannot quiz you on the lecture notes or textbook chapter you actually need to learn.

  • Upload the slides or notes your teacher actually uses
  • Mix multiple-choice and true/false questions to test recall quickly
  • Read the explanation after every answer, including the ones you got right
  • Re-run the quiz on the same material a few days later to see what stuck
Example wiki basics quiz questions
What does a wiki's revision history let you do?It lets you compare and restore earlier versions of a page, because every edit is logged with who made it and when.
What is a wiki talk page used for?Discussing edits and disagreements about a page's content, kept separate from the article itself.
How is an internal link usually written in MediaWiki-style markup? With double square brackets, such as [[Photosynthesis]], which connect to another page in the same wiki.
What is a wiki namespace?A prefix such as Help: or Talk: that groups pages by purpose, so different kinds of pages stay organized.
What is an edit war on a wiki?Repeated reverting between editors who disagree, usually settled by discussing the change on the talk page.

Built from your material

Questions come from the PDF, DOCX, PPTX, notes or photos you upload, so you study what your class actually covers.

Explanations on every answer

Each multiple-choice, true/false and short-answer question includes a short explanation, so a wrong answer teaches you something.

Study in the browser or export

Practice on the free plan in your browser. Paid plans add PDF, DOCX, Anki and CSV exports, and Pro adds QTI 2.1 and Moodle XML.

How it works

Upload your notes

Add a PDF, DOCX, PPTX, plain text file or a photo of a page. Text in photos is read with text recognition.

Pick a question type

Choose multiple-choice, true/false or short-answer questions, or a mix of them.

Practice and review

Work through the quiz, read the explanations and revisit the questions you missed.

Quiz questions work best when they come from the exact material on your test. Generating them from your own files keeps the focus on what your instructor covers, and the explanations show why each answer is right.

If you want reference material on a topic, pair the quiz with your course readings. Use the questions to check what you remember before you move on.

Frequently asked questions

How do I study how wikis are organized?

Start with the basics: pages, internal links, revision history and talk pages. Quiz yourself on each term until you can explain it without looking, then move to how these pieces work together on a real wiki.

How many quiz questions should I practice in one session?

Ten to twenty questions is a good range for one sitting. Review the explanations for anything you missed, then repeat those questions in a later session.

Is there a free plan?

Yes. The free plan includes 3 generations per month and lets you study in the browser, but it does not include exports. Plus is $99.90/year or $9.99/month and adds unlimited generations and PDF, DOCX, Anki and CSV export.

Can I export my quiz to Anki or Moodle?

Anki and CSV export are included in Plus, which costs $99.90/year or $9.99/month. QTI 2.1 and Moodle XML export are available on Pro at $14.99/month.
