Why build your own IELTS grammar quiz

Ready-made IELTS grammar quiz pages are easy to find, but they rarely match the structures your course or your weak spots actually cover. A quiz made from your own study material targets the exact tenses, articles and clause types you are working on.

  • Quizzes match the grammar points in your own notes
  • Explanations show the rule behind each correct answer
  • Exports to PDF and DOCX are included in Plus
  • Free plan includes 3 generations per month and browser study
Example IELTS grammar quiz questions
Choose the correct word: She has lived here ___ 2015. (since / for)since. It marks a specific starting point in time, while for is used with a length of time.
Which is correct? Neither of the students ___ finished the exam. (has / have)has. When neither is used alone as the subject, it takes a singular verb.
Rewrite in reported speech: 'I will call you tomorrow,' he said.He said he would call me the next day. Will shifts to would, and tomorrow changes to the next day in reported speech.
True or false: 'If I had known, I would have told you' is a second conditional.False. It is a third conditional, used for past situations that did not happen.
Choose the correct word: The report, ___ was published last week, contains errors. (which / who)which. The clause adds extra information about a thing, so it needs which and commas.

Multiple-choice, true/false and open questions

Mix question types so you practice recognizing errors and producing correct sentences.

Explanations for every answer

Each question shows why the correct option works, so you learn the rule instead of memorizing the answer.

How it works

Upload your notes

Add a PDF, DOCX, PPTX, plain text file or a photo of a page. Photos are read with text recognition.

Choose the question types

Pick multiple-choice, true/false or short answer questions for the grammar points you want to review.

Practice in the browser

Take the quiz, read the explanations and retry the questions you missed.

IELTS does not test grammar as a separate section. Writing and Speaking are scored partly on grammatical range and accuracy, so practicing errors you already make in essays is more useful than general drills. Generate a quiz after each lesson and retake the questions you got wrong.

If you need a printable version, the Plus plan exports quizzes to PDF or DOCX. Pro adds QTI 2.1 and Moodle XML export for teachers who run tests in a learning management system.
