Why teachers ask for an offline Moodle quiz

Teachers and students often want an offline Moodle quiz, meaning questions that can be reviewed without a live connection. DeckOwl builds those questions from your own PDFs, slides or notes, then exports them in formats you can use in Moodle or on paper.

  • Upload PDFs, DOCX, PPTX, notes or page photos as source material.
  • Get multiple-choice, true/false or open questions, each with an explanation.
  • Export Moodle XML on Pro, or PDF and DOCX on Plus.
  • Students get 40% off with a school email, and no credit card is needed to start.

Frequently asked questions

How do I import Moodle quiz questions into my course?

In Moodle, open the question bank, choose Import, and select the Moodle XML format. Upload the exported file and the questions will appear in that bank for use in quizzes.

How many questions should a practice quiz have?

Ten to twenty questions per topic is a common range for a practice set. Mixing recall questions with a few that ask you to apply the idea works better than memorizing wording.

Can I export a quiz as PDF on the free plan?

No, exports are paid features. PDF and DOCX exports are on Plus, and Moodle XML export is on Pro.

Does DeckOwl work without an internet connection?

DeckOwl runs in the browser and does not have an offline mode. For offline study, export a PDF or DOCX copy on the Plus plan.
