Turn your present continuous notes into a quiz with explanations
DeckOwl does not accept video files. Upload your grammar notes, slides, PDFs or a photo of a worksheet, and get multiple-choice, true/false or open questions with an explanation for each answer.
Why use a notes-based present continuous quiz
A present continuous video quiz sounds useful, but many learners already have the lesson they need in written form: a grammar handout, a slide deck or a teacher's notes. Turning that material into questions gives you practice on the exact forms your class is using, such as affirmative, negative and question forms with am, is and are.
- Use the present continuous for actions happening now, such as She is writing an email.
- Use it for temporary situations, such as I am living in Madrid this year.
- Add -ing carefully: drop a silent e (make to making) but keep the e in words like see (seeing).
- Check negatives by placing not after am, is or are and before the verb.
Built from your material
Questions come from the grammar notes, slides or PDF you upload, so the quiz matches what your class covers.
Explanations for every answer
Each question shows why the correct answer is right, which helps when you miss a point about am/is/are plus -ing.
Study in the browser
The free plan lets you take quizzes in the browser with 3 generations per month, with no credit card needed to start.
How it works
Upload your notes
Add a PDF, DOCX, PPTX, plain text file or a photo of the page. Photos are read with text recognition.
Choose a question type
Pick multiple choice, true/false or short answer, then generate the quiz.
Practice and review
Answer the questions, read the explanations, and retake the quiz until the rules feel automatic.
Good practice mixes meaning and form. Ask yourself whether the action is happening now or is temporary, then check the spelling of the -ing form. DeckOwl builds quiz questions from your own text, so you can focus on the rules your course actually teaches.

Frequently asked questions
How do I know when to use the present continuous?
Use it for actions in progress at the moment of speaking and for temporary situations around now. Signal words like now, at the moment and this week often point to it.
What is a good way to practice present continuous tense?
Write five sentences about what you are doing today, then change each one to a negative and a question. Checking your answers against a short explanation helps you catch mistakes.
Can DeckOwl make a quiz from a video file?
No, DeckOwl does not accept video files. You can upload PDFs, DOCX or PPTX files, plain text notes, or images of pages, and generate a quiz from those.
