Turn your MCAT notes into practice questions sorted by topic
Upload slides, PDFs or typed notes for one content area and get multiple-choice, true/false or short-answer questions with explanations you can review topic by topic.
Practicing MCAT content one topic at a time
Drilling one content area until it sticks keeps MCAT prep organized, and mcat practice questions by topic make that possible when the questions come from the material you are actually studying. DeckOwl does not sell a ready-made question bank. It builds sets from the notes, slides or textbook chapters you already have.
- Keep each set limited to one topic so misses point to a specific gap.
- Read the explanation even for questions you answered correctly.
- Retry missed questions after a day or two instead of repeating them right away.
- Check generated answers against your course material before relying on them.
Questions grouped by topic
Each generation uses only the material you upload, so a set on amino acids stays separate from your enzyme kinetics or genetics notes.
Explanations for every answer
Multiple-choice, true/false and short-answer questions each come with an explanation of why the correct answer is right and the others are not.
Export when you need it
Plus adds PDF and DOCX export. Pro adds QTI 2.1 and Moodle XML for course platforms.
How it works
Upload your notes
Add a PDF, DOCX, PPTX, text file or photos of pages. Photos are read with text recognition.
Generate one topic at a time
Split your material into sections such as biochemistry, physics or psychology and generate a separate question set for each.
Practice and review
Answer in your browser, read each explanation, and return to missed topics later. The free plan includes 3 generations per month.
Working by topic shows you where a gap is. If every missed question in a set involves the same concept, you know which section of your notes to review before moving on. Generating a fresh set from that section later gives you a new check on the same idea.

Frequently asked questions
How many MCAT practice questions should I do per topic?
There is no fixed number that works for everyone. Aim for enough questions to see whether you miss the same idea more than once, and review each explanation before starting the next set.
How do I study MCAT topics I keep getting wrong?
Generate questions from only that section of your notes, then retry them after a day or two. Spaced review usually works better than repeating the same set in one sitting.
Can I export MCAT questions to Anki or PDF?
Yes, on paid plans. Plus includes PDF, DOCX, Anki and CSV export, and Pro adds QTI 2.1 and Moodle XML.
Do I need a credit card to try it?
No. The free plan includes 3 generations per month and studying in the browser, and you can upgrade later if you need more.
