Have a Quizizz join code? Turn your own notes into a quiz
DeckOwl does not host live games, so a join code has to be entered on Quizizz itself. To study from your own material, upload a PDF, slides or notes and get multiple-choice, true/false or short-answer questions with explanations.
Where a Quizizz join code fits
A Quizizz join code only works inside Quizizz, where your teacher starts a live game and shares the code with the class. DeckOwl cannot admit you to that session.
- Enter a join code on the Quizizz site or app, not in DeckOwl.
- Upload your own PDF, slides or notes to get a quiz tied to your course.
- Each question includes an explanation so review is not just guessing.
- Export to PDF or DOCX on Plus, or QTI 2.1 and Moodle XML on Pro.
Quiz from your material
Upload a PDF, DOCX, PPTX, plain text notes or a photo of a page and get questions drawn from that content.
Explanations on every answer
Each multiple-choice, true/false and short-answer question comes with an explanation so you learn why an answer is right.
Export on paid plans
Plus exports to PDF and DOCX, and Pro adds QTI 2.1 and Moodle XML for course platforms.
How it works
Upload your notes
Add a file or paste text. Photos of pages are read with text recognition.
Choose a question type
Pick multiple-choice, true/false or short-answer questions, then generate the set.
Study or export
Practice in the browser on the free plan, or export on a paid plan.
If what you need is practice on your own course material, DeckOwl builds a quiz from the slides or notes you upload, so the questions match what you are learning. Use it to review before a live game or a test.

Frequently asked questions
Where do I enter a Quizizz join code?
Enter it on Quizizz itself, in the browser or the app, when your teacher gives you the code. DeckOwl does not run live games or accept join codes.
What is the difference between an INNER JOIN and a LEFT JOIN?
An INNER JOIN returns only rows that match in both tables. A LEFT JOIN keeps every row from the left table and fills unmatched columns from the right table with NULL.
How many JOIN practice questions should I do?
Aim for several questions per join type, and include ones with NULL results and duplicate keys, since those cause the most errors. Redo questions you missed after a day or two.
Can I export DeckOwl questions to another quiz tool?
Yes, but exports are paid features. PDF and DOCX export are on Plus, and QTI 2.1 and Moodle XML are on Pro. The free plan lets you study in the browser only.
