What to do if you cannot join a live quiz

If you came here trying to join a Quizizz quiz and cannot find the code, DeckOwl cannot open that game because it does not host live sessions or join codes. What it can do is turn the material you already have into a practice quiz you control.

  • Works from PDFs, DOCX, slides, plain notes and photos of pages
  • Multiple choice, true/false and open questions with explanations
  • Free plan includes 3 generations per month and browser study
  • PDF and DOCX exports are on Plus, and QTI 2.1 and Moodle XML are on Pro
Example SQL JOIN practice questions (subject: join)
What does an INNER JOIN return?Only rows where the join condition matches in both tables, because unmatched rows are dropped.
What does a LEFT JOIN return that an INNER JOIN does not?All rows from the left table, with NULL in the right-table columns when there is no match.
What does a FULL OUTER JOIN return? All rows from both tables, with NULL wherever one side has no matching row.
Why does a CROSS JOIN of a 10-row table and a 20-row table return 200 rows?It pairs every row of one table with every row of the other, so 10 times 20 gives 200 combinations with no join condition.
In a self join, what lets you tell the two copies of the same table apart?Table aliases, such as FROM employees e1 JOIN employees e2, so each reference has its own name.

Built from your material

Upload a PDF, slides, DOCX, plain notes or a photo of a page, and get questions based on what you actually studied.

Explanations for every answer

Each question comes with a short explanation, so a wrong answer teaches you why it was wrong.

Study in your browser

The free plan lets you take quizzes online with 3 generations per month, and paid plans add exports.

How it works

Upload your files

Add the PDF, slides, notes or photos you need to review.

Choose a question type

Pick multiple choice, true/false or open questions for the quiz.

Take the quiz

Answer the questions, read the explanations and retake the ones you missed.

Upload your lecture slides, a PDF of the reading or photos of your notes. The tool writes questions with explanations so you can drill the topic alone or check whether you understood the lesson before a test.

For live classroom games, ask your teacher for the join code or the link. For studying on your own, a quiz generated from your files is usually more useful than a generic set.

Frequently asked questions

How many practice questions should I work through on SQL joins?

Most courses cover inner, left, right, full outer, cross and self joins, so aim to write each one against a small sample schema. Keep going until you can predict the row count before running the query.

What is the quickest way to tell INNER JOIN and LEFT JOIN apart?

INNER JOIN keeps only rows that match in both tables, while LEFT JOIN keeps every row from the left table and fills gaps with NULL. Sketching two small tables and marking the result helps the difference stick.

Can DeckOwl run a live quiz with a join code?

No. DeckOwl creates study quizzes from your files for you to take on your own, and it does not run live games or join codes.

Can I export the quiz I generate?

Yes, but exports are paid features: PDF and DOCX are on Plus, and QTI 2.1 and Moodle XML are on Pro. The free plan lets you study in the browser.
