Learn what a quiz answer is and how to check yours
DeckOwl turns your notes, slides or PDFs into practice questions with a correct answer and a short explanation for each one, so you can see why every answer is right.
What a quiz answer actually is
A quiz answer is the response a question asks for, whether that is one letter in a multiple-choice list, a true or false choice, or a few written words. Students often search what is a quiz answer when they first see an answer key that includes reasons as well as results.
- A multiple-choice answer is the single best option, and the other choices are distractors designed to look plausible.
- A true/false answer needs the whole statement to be accurate, so one wrong detail makes it false.
- A short answer is graded on the key ideas it includes, not on matching the exact wording.
- An explanation tells you the reasoning behind the answer, which is what transfers to new questions.
Answers with explanations
Every generated question includes the correct answer and a short explanation of why it holds.
Three answer formats
Multiple choice, true/false and short answer questions cover the main ways quizzes ask for a response.
Study in the browser
The free plan lets you review questions and answers in the browser, with three generations each month.
How it works
Upload your material
Add a PDF, DOCX, PPTX, plain text notes or a photo of a page.
Pick a question type
Choose multiple choice, true/false or short answer, then generate the set.
Check each answer
Compare your response with the key and read the explanation, even for the questions you got right.
The correct answer is only part of the value. A useful answer or explanation shows why the right option works and sometimes why the wrong ones fail, which is what helps you handle questions you have not seen before.

What makes a good quiz answer explanation?
A good explanation states why the correct choice works and, where useful, why the wrong options fail. Keeping it to one to three sentences makes it quick to review.
How do I check my own answers on a practice quiz?
Compare each response with the key, then read the explanation even when you were right. Mark the misses and retry those questions after a day or two.
