Study the questions you missed in your Canvas quiz results
Your score tells you how you did. It does not tell you why you missed a question or what to review next. DeckOwl builds practice quizzes from your own notes so you can work through the gaps.
How to use your Canvas quiz results to study
Your Canvas quiz results show which questions you missed, but not the reasoning behind each miss. The fastest way to improve is to turn those misses into practice you can repeat, rather than rereading the whole unit.
- Sort your missed questions by topic to find the real gaps behind the score.
- Read the explanation for each miss and work out why the wrong option seemed right.
- Retake practice questions after a delay of a day or two, not immediately.
- Keep the free plan for a few study sessions, then upgrade if you need exports.
Quizzes from your own material
Upload PDFs, slides, DOCX files, plain notes or photos of pages. Get multiple-choice, true/false and short answer questions based on what you actually studied.
An explanation for every answer
Each question comes with an explanation of the correct answer, so a miss teaches you the reasoning instead of just the letter.
Retake what you missed
Work through the topics where your results were weakest, then retake the questions from memory before your next quiz.
How it works
Upload your notes or slides
Add the lecture slides, readings or notes that the quiz covered. DeckOwl does not connect to Canvas or read your grades.
Generate a practice quiz
Choose the question types you want. Each question includes an explanation for the correct answer.
Study the gaps and retake
Review the explanations for questions you missed, then retake the quiz after a day or two to check what stuck.
DeckOwl is a separate study tool, not a Canvas feature. It cannot pull your scores or sync with your course. You upload the same material your quiz was based on, and it builds new questions with explanations that you can use to test the same topics.
Use the results to decide what to study. If several misses fall in one topic, review that section of your notes, then answer the new questions from memory and check each explanation against your own reasoning.

Frequently asked questions
How should I review a quiz after I see my results?
Start with the questions you missed and read each explanation carefully. Then answer those topics again from memory, since recalling an answer builds stronger memory than seeing it.
Why do I keep missing questions even after I review my quiz?
Looking at the right answer often feels like learning, but it rarely sticks on its own. Spacing out repeated practice and testing yourself without notes usually fixes repeated misses.
Does DeckOwl connect to Canvas to show my quiz results?
No. DeckOwl does not connect to Canvas or read your grades. You upload your own notes, slides or PDFs and study from the questions it generates.
Can I export a practice quiz to use in Canvas?
The Pro plan includes QTI 2.1 and Moodle XML export. Check with your school or instructor whether their Canvas setup can import those files before you rely on them.
